Introduction
The concept of "holistic biology" was developed by the Canadian physician Claude Sabbah, over a period of about 40 years (1, 2). His original idea was born and shaped already about 1980. This concept integrates the many different relevant scientific fields from consciousness research, molecular biology, over biochemistry to modern physics into a brave new scientific synthesis, exactly of the kind the world desperately needs for moving towards a better, wiser and more effective medicine.
Many of Sabbah's early conclusions from the 1980s and 1990s regarding psychosomatics are based on his concept of holistic biology in accordance with what quality of life research and research in psychotherapy and holistic medicine has found in the last three decades. To say it shortly: Despite lack of conceptual and scientific precision Sabbah got it right.
It might be that his synthesis is not the final version of the new biology we all are looking for and work still needs to be done in the field, but his model is far better than most of the other models we have seen in this area in the last 50 years. It...
