A 76-year-old woman developed toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) shortly after initiation of celecoxib, thiocolchicoside and paracetamol [acetaminophen] treatment.
The woman had arthralgias of an inflammatory origin, for which she began receiving paracetamol, celecoxib and thiocolchicoside [dosages not stated]. She had previously received paracetamol [details not stated] but had never received celecoxib or thiocolchicoside. Three days after starting treatment, she developed an eruption with epidermal detachment involving her arms, legs and trunk.
Paracetamol, celecoxib and thiocolchicoside were discontinued, and the woman was urgently admitted to a burn-care unit. Nikolsky's sign was present at admission,...
