Abstract

Starting from film production of Derek Jarman, the work goes over the salient facts in the life of Caravaggio as well as his artistic genius leading to constitute a milestone in the history of painting and outstanding audacity to move down the Renaissance ideal to the earth. From a medical perspective, some concepts dealing with diagnostic problems and their relationship with the scientific knowledge are reviewed. An endeavour for which we should get rid ourselves of gallons of dogmatism, recognizing the possibility of error. There are cases in which the patient's situation does not fit with the prevailing view.
