The BVA's package of legal services aims to support members who find themselves in difficulty at work.
THE September meeting of BVA Council included a lively debate around the subject of support and representation for members in employment disputes. BVA Council members were quick to acknowledge that a good vet does not automatically make a good manager. Some recent graduate members have reported poor working conditions and bad practice; these incidents are not representative of the general picture, but are worrying nonetheless.
The BVA does much to support its members who find themselves in difficulty at work. Hopefully, members won't ever need to call on the BVA's mediation and legal representation services, as going to an employment tribunal should always be a last resort. Nevertheless, it is reassuring to know that these services are available, and are completely free of charge. The added bonus is that they are available as soon...
