METHOD OF PREPARATION
1. Calculate the required quantity of each ingredient for the total amount to be prepared.
2. Weigh and/or measure each ingredient accurately.
3. Heat the purified water to about 85°C and add the sodium borate, potassium chloride, methylparaben, and propylparaben.
4. Heat the lanolin, wax, and mineral oil to about 85°C.
5. Add the aqueous mixture slowly to the oil mixture and mix well.
6. Heat the Miglyol 812 separately to about 70°C to 74°C and dissolve the butesin picrate in it, with stirring.
7. Reduce the temperature of the vehicle to about 70°C to 74°C.
8. Add the butesin picrate solution slowly to the vehicle, with continued stirring, and maintain at the elevated temperature for about 20 minutes.
9. Cool slowly, with continued mixing.
10. Package and label.
