Munich. It aims to provide an overview
of the current status of gamma knife
radiosurgery (GKRS) in Europe with
special focus on specific areas. The
book comprises 11 chapters with five
chapters written by the editors.The first chapter is a method description about the integration of PET and
MR images for target delineation prior
to dose planning, with a proposed classification to assess the volumetric contributions of each modality. It addresses
the subject of target definition, crucial
for radiosurgery, yet often not appreciated. There is no clinical validation
of the respective contributions of PET
and MRI. Chapter 2 deals with quality
assurance tests, i.e., spatial accuracy,
dose planning and dose distribution.
The chapter is very well written and
covers the subject of accuracy in detail.The third chapter discusses clinical
