A 35-year-old woman experienced local anaesthetic systemic toxicity, with seizures and cardiac arrest, following lidocaine overdose; an interaction with carvedilol and amlodipine may have increased her sensitivity to lidocaine.
The woman, who had a complex medical history, was scheduled to undergo incision and drainage of a labial abscess. Her medications at this time included amlodipine and carvedilol [details of administrations not stated].
