Allen & Overy merges merges with Loeff Claeys, Belgium

Abstract

Following several months of negotiations, 140 lawyers from the Belgium office of Loeff Claeys Verbeke are set to join international law firm Allen & Overy in January 2001. The office will be based in Brussels and the tax department will comprise two partners, 10 associates and 6 trainees. Allen & Overy and Loeff Claeys Verbeke have had an association since 1990, and the Netherlands and Luxembourg offices of Loeff decided to join Allen & Overy last year.
