(STF) - Menudo turns into MDO still reaching for the stars.
MENUDO is back ... bigger and better than before and they've changed their name to MDO.
But one look at that male-macho exterior, and it's clear that latin testosterone is back in skin tight denim jeans with thick leather belts, your choice of black or white body hugging singlet, and you have the old Menudo, only with new faces.
About the only change is their haircuts ... but even then, one of the boys still sports an 80s spiral latin curls ala Rico Suave.
Yes, this is just another boy band.
Imagine The New Kids On The Block minus Joey, Jordan, Donny, Danny and Johnathon, add in five new faces, claiming to be making a comeback, after almost a decade of silence.
Where's the logic?
How can it be a comeback if you're not the original band to begin with?
It's called branding. Product familiarization.
Change the ingredients, but pass it off under the same same.
In some cases, that wouldn't be so bad, like if Britney Spears suddenly mysteriously disappeared, and there was someone else ... anyone else, bouncing beach balls off the stage while singing `live' in Hawaii...
