Abstract
The Atrocity Exhibition Catalogue investigates the possibility that J.G. Ballard's 1969 novel, The Atrocity Exhibition, is a conceptual exhibition, by creating a catalogue for that exhibition. Fictional contributors – including artist and philosopher Brint Moltke- Beadsman, art historian Ts'ui Tsun, and curator Clara Canterel – address the theoretical issues raised by conceptual exhibition practices, the history of Ballardian exhibitions, and the premise of exhibiting in different dimensions of reality. In tended to create a discourse that compliments and intersects with Ballard’s novel, The Atrocity Exhibition Catalogue employs narrative, intertextual, historical, para-fictional and theoretical analysis.
