Two Indians among UK's "Asian Women of Achievement Awards" winners

London, May 26 -- Two women of India origin - Shaheen Khan who played a Punjabi mother in 'Bend it Like Beckham' and London Police's Chief Inspector, Parm Sandhu, the only Asian woman who played a high-profile role in reassuring communities after the 7/7 bombings, have won awards in UK in recognition of their contribution to their respective fields.

While Parm, who is Metropolitan Police's highest-ranking Asian woman, received the Public Sector Award, Shaheen won the Art and Culture Award, reports the Independent.
