Most soccer clubs have two kinds of teams: in-house, or recreational, and traveling.
Skill-building opportunities for young soccer players on in- house teams can be limited because of an emphasis on traveling teams, composed of players who already have advanced skills.
But expansion plans for one south-of-the-river facility, Soccer Blast in Burnsville, include a recreational league where the younger players will be able to hone their skills and have the chance to spend more time with trainers on the field year-round.
