About this time of year, some of us get so softened by sentiment that any movie about Christmas has the benefit of the doubt.
No matter how many times we've seen a kid mailing an urgent appeal to the North Pole, or a department-store Santa promising a miracle, or a Grinch growing a heart, it's like the welcome refrain of a favorite carol.
But although the caper comedy "Christmas in Wonderland" pushes enough buttons on the holiday jukebox to mimic merriment, by the end it's a tinny echo of classics from "Miracle on 34th Street" to "Home Alone."
