President Robert C. Maxson & Dr. Sylvia Maxson
Administration/Special During his 12 years at Long Beach State Dr. Maxson's enthusiasm for students was evident everywhere on campus, including athletics, where his standard greeting, "Go Beach,' became the university catch phrase. Since he first arrived on campus, Dr. Maxson has attended as many sporting events and athletic functions as his schedule would allow. He and Sylvia were always available to meet recruits and do whatever they could to promote "The Beach.'
