ENGLAND are the clear favourite with punters as major betting agencies report a huge inflow of overseas money to beat the Wallabies and claim the World Cup for the first time in Sydney tomorrow night.
The sheer weight of money has caused the bookmakers to ease England's price significantly since the tournament opener six weeks ago. They are now offering no better than $1.70 for the win with the Wallabies blowing out to between $2.10 and $2.20.
"It is shaping up as a tough game for the bookies," SportOdds spokesman Bill Anderson said last night. "We are expecting to hold somewhere between $250,000 and half a million dollars on the game.
