ON screen she started off as the bubbly blonde who has now turned into the aunt from Hell on 2 Point Four Children and the leftover hippy on Sunburn.
Off-screen actress Sandra Dickinson's life has undergone even more dramatic changes.
The end of her seemingly idyllic 14-year marriage to actor Peter Davison saw her move from a nine-bedroom mansion to a small village where she lived as a virtual recluse with their daughter Georgia.
Mother and daughter were so shell-shocked at the loss of Peter - star of TV's All Creatures Great And Small - that they filled the house with 11 pets to get over their feeling of loneliness.
And even though they parted six years ago and Peter has a new partner and a new baby son... Sandra says she still loves him even though they never have any contact.
"Yes I'm still in love with Peter," she says. "I've never fallen out of love with anyone I've been with. I don't think anything ever really ends, it just changes. Yes, it was terrible for me when my relationship with Peter ended, but I just made myself survive.
"Peter and I don't have any contact at all any more. That's his choice, not mine. I've always stayed great chums with anyone I've had a relationship with but I haven't been allowed to do that this time and it's a great shame, as he's the one person I have a child with.
"But I'm still quite lucky compared with a lot of people, although I've been through an awful lot.
" I love being alive no matter what happens - and you wouldn't be alive if you never got hurt. You meet people who have been, and are afraid to let it happen. Yet this is what life is all about. If you're not willing to get hurt, you're not willing to live.
"So what if I had my heart broken? I hope to have it broken again because otherwise I won't be living.
"I've never talked about the real reasons why Peter and I split up. I'm not going to say anything against him. It's very unsavoury to cast any stones. Nobody knows why we split up and so far I've managed...
