MOORLAND fires, more woodland pests and dried out bogs could all threaten an area of natural beauty in Yorkshire as climate change takes hold.
At a time when hill farming is already under economic and social pressures, reduced grass growth in periods of drought could also increase stock feed costs and high temperatures may cause stress in livestock, which could lead to changes in farming practices.
