Abstract
Each poem in BLISS POINT is a new angle of a similar overwhelm—a new point at which the sensory input and psychological stressors of consumerism, patriarchy, and the Anthropocene converge once again upon a speaker, demanding yet another release of tension. As input converges, the speaker searches for an equation, some light by which to discern perfect meaning, and comes up short. In the absence of such certainty, strange rhetorical leaps and radical juxtapositions in the book cram together, I hope, as in the workings of a mind and its shifting, confounding subjectivities.
