Abstract

Scope and method of study. This researcher became interested in the fact that the first sentence of James 5:14-15 was a question. Therefore, this researcher studied through carrying out a survey by setting several groups like the Pentecostal, the Non-Pentecostal, the Prayer House as samples, and explain it through the relationship among the existence of the divine healing, the divine healing and praying, the divine healing and love, the divine healing and recovery, etc. in the view of James 5:15a. The questionnaires which are used for interpretation are 500 copies, exclusive of Sample 2, 50 copies of 1 church of Sample 2 and 50 copies of the House Prayer of Sample 3 which didn't arrive on time.

Findings and conclusions. This researcher set up 5 sections for this project. The results are as follows. First, this researcher confirmed that both groups are experiencing the divine healing directly-indirectly. Second, this researcher confirmed that the prayer offered in faith by “the person who prays” and “the sick person” influence on the divine healing absolutely. Third, this researcher confirmed that the gifts of faith can offer the prayer in faith or bring about the divine healing. Fourth, the survey let us confirm the biblical understanding and recognition of Calling, Regeneration, Conversion, Repentance, Faith, Healing, Prayer offered in faith, Gift of faith and “God is love.” Fifth, the survey let us confirm that the divine healing is the holistic recovery of one's spirit, soul, body, and in the aspectual viewpoint it is outwardly the recovery of the kingdom of God and inwardly it lets us confirm the biblical understanding and recognition of the recovery of the image of God.

But there appeared some unexpected results which hadn't been expected. First, it is that the Sample 2 has comparatively insufficient interest in the divine healing and insufficient direct-indirect experience of the divine healing when compared with the Sample 1. Second, it is that compared with the Sample 2, Sample 1 is lack of the biblical understanding in spite of their high recognition and actual experience.
