O Conceito de Escola de Trabalho Segundo Georg Kerschensteiner

Abstract

Analisa-se a teoria educativa expressa por Georg Kerschensteiner (1854-1932) na sua obra Begriff der Arbeitsschule(Conceito da escola de trabalho), de 1912, nomeadamente em relação à influência da escola de trabalho no sistema dual de educação e formação e à relação entre escola e trabalho (produtivo), à dimensão humana do trabalho, à orientação para as profissões e ao desenvolvimento de competência e atitudes éticas para a inclusão na comunidade (estadual). Procura-se contextualizar a emergência da sua teorização e a perenidade que o seu pensamento teve na organização do sistema de ensino profissional na Alemanha, refletindo acerca da atualidade e pertinência das suas ideias na implementação do Quadro Europeu de Qualificações (2008) e da Estratégia Europa 2020.

The aim of this work is to analyse the educational theory expressed by Georg Kerschensteiner (1854-1932) in his book Begriff der Arbeitsschule(«The Concept of the Industrial School») written in 1912, namely regarding the influence of the industrial school in the dual system of education and training and the relation between school and (productive) work, the human dimension of work, vocational orientation and the development of competence and ethical attitudes towards inclusion in the (state) community. We also contextualize the emergence of his thought and its long-standing impact in Germany’s vocational system by analysing the modernity and relevance of his ideas for the implementation of the European Qualifications Framework (2008) and Europe 2020 Strategy.
