SOME OF THE NEWEST occupants at the New Yorker Hotel are in for a relatively long stay.
They are 15 businesses formerly located in or near the World Trade Center that have leased 24,000 square feet of office space at the art deco-style hotel at 481 8th Ave. at West 34th Street.
"We had an immediate effect from the World Trade Center," said Raymond Mosley, director of Commercial Real Estate for the New Yorker Hotel Management Co., noting that the hotel has been leasing offices in the 40-story building since 1994. "We found a lot of people took temporary space [elsewhere] so they could get up and running, but they weren't happy with the temporary space. They were looking for something longer. Lately, people in the space are settling down here."
Most of the hotel's newest office tenants are professionals, including accountants, lawyers and psychologists.
