City Council members closed in on a deal with Donald Trump late yesterday to grant city approval for his Riverside South project in return for a series of new concessions. Trump also dropped plans for a huge television studio as part of the Upper West Side development.
Trump originally wanted to build as many as 16 apartment buildings with 5,700 units and a television studio complex covering four blocks near the Con Edison plant at 59th Street. But yesterday, Trump aides said they were dropping the 1.7-million-square-foot studio for now to avoid triggering a new environmental impact study.
The studio was all that was left of Trump's original 1980s...
