Donald Trump's scaled-down Riverside South project got a chilly response from community activists and politicians yesterday, when his planners defended the proposal before the City Planning Commission.
"It's another bankruptcy waiting to happen that is eventually paid for by the taxpayer," Olive Freud, vice president of the Coalition for a Livable West Side, told the commission. The group, many of them apartment owners, have fought Trump's plans to build a luxury apartment and office complex along the Hudson River between 59th and 72nd Streets, on the site of the old Penn railyards.
