City Comptroller Elizabeth Holtzman asked the mayor yesterday to reject a $97-million contract to repair the Manhattan Bridge, citing allegations that the Yonkers Contracting Co. has been involved in bid rigging.
But city transportation officials said canceling the contract would delay needed repairs for at least six months, and could cost the city as much as $20 million in federal funds.
