Hedda Nussbaum, who faces possible indictment in the fatal beatingof her 6-yearold adopted daughter, will be transferred today fromCity Hospital Center in Queens to a Manhattan hospital for extensive tests, according to a spokesman for the Queens hospital. Nussbaum has been hospitalized since Nov. 3, the day after she and her boyfriend, lawyer Joel Steinberg, were arrested in the brutal beating of the girl, Lisa, who died Nov. 4 after being declared brain dead and taken off a respirator. The 46-year-old woman is suffering from multiple fractures and other injuries that prosecutors believe Steinberg inflicted.
