The mother ahead of me in line looked as if she'd had a tough day.
Her two children were playing at a table in the Burger King while she stood at the counter waiting for the burgers and fries to be bagged.
I waited patiently for her order to be filled and for a clerk to step up the register. In the meantime, I read a short story written by The Associated Press about the Pokemon craze. The article was taped to the counter beside a handwritten apology from the local Burger King's management.
"Burger King has apologized to angry parents and disappointed children for the shortage of Pokemon toys and cards in its restaurants."
The full-page ad ran in four newspapers across the nation.
The article quoted a BK representative saying the promotion was more successful than anyone could have imagined.
I believe the lady in front of me in line could have told Burger King that every kid...
