Prompted by the addition of shock jock Howard Stern to its morning lineup, WQYK-AM 1010 has dropped its sports talk format in favor of general interest talk shows, axing two local programs, changing its call letters and ending its relationship with ESPN Radio.
Gone is the show hosted by former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Scott Brantley and sports talk veteran Ronnie Lane, along with a show hosted by Steve Austin and Mike Pepper, who will work in other capacities for station owner Infinity Broadcasting.
Now known as "The Buzz" WBZZ-AM 1010, the station will air Stern from 6 to 11 a.m. starting July 19, with The Sports Chix show...
