My! What a good boy Billy Bennett tries to be.
Oh dear, such bold virtues has he.
Hard-working, courageous, faithful, loyal, honest and true.
Disciplined, responsible and, yes, a great chum, too!
Superficial he is, but that's mighty fine.
For he's writing not for 1995, but 1899.
William J. Bennett, author and education guru, is certainly on target in pointing out virtues that will help today's children face society in his latest book.
Mere common sense tells us that children who possess discipline, faith, loyality, honesty, a strong work ethic and a capacity to love and share will do more than fare well in society; they will flourish.
