A Utah company is finding that selling alternatives to Hollywood's sex and violence yields huge rewards.
Murray-based Feature Films for Families, a firm formed in 1988 to sell family-oriented videotaped movies directly to households, has leased an approximately 17,000 square foot building at 2550 So. 2300 W. in which to locate its warehouse, distribution and fulfillment operations, which shipped more than 400,000 tapes last month alone.
The company, whose president and executive producer is former KSL-TV sports anchor Don Judd, expects to gross more than $100 million this year. That compares with $6 million in 1990, nearly $16 million in 1991 and in excess of $30 million last year, according to public information director Michael Clapier.
