THE primary goal of this eleven chapter work is to assess the impact of the Nuclear Free and Independent Pacific Movement as an agent of political change in the Pacific region. Since this movement includes a wide variety of nongovernmental groups and perspectives, the author chose to illustrate the role and activities of the NFIP by focussing on its campaign to defend the anti-nuclear elements of the constitution of Belau.
