James Li, 17, of Houston, Texas, won the Young Artist Award at the 30th Corpus Christi International Young Artists' Competition. Li, a student of John Weems, will perform with the Corpus Christie Symphony next season. Li also won first place in the pre-college piano division. Daniel Gledhill of Provo, Utah, a student of Irene Peery-Fox, won second place. Kimberly Kong of Wexford, Pennsylvania, student of Natasha Snitkovsky, won an honorable mention.
Beatriz Pimentel of Brasilia, Brazil, won first place in the college piano division. Pimentel studies with Kasandra Keeling at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.
