Abstract

Coral reefs are dynamic ecosystems that are currently facing endangerment and extinction from the effects of climate change. Restoration projects aim to assist in the recovery of these fragile ecosystems and to enhance their resiliency. There has yet to be a formal statistical review of the effects of coral reef restoration on the health of coral reefs. This meta-analysis aims to determine whether coral restoration has a significant effect on coral survival, growth, recruitment, diversity, fish populations, benthic cover, and ecosystem services.
