Monitor and notebook manufacturing giant Chuntex Electronics - the parent company of U.S.-based CTX International -- recently filed for "reorganization protection" in its native Taiwan.
The troubled Chuntex, a publicly-traded company in Asia, is seeking temporary relief from creditors. As part of its plan to return to profitability, the company says it has decided to phase out all manufacturing of its desktop PC and notebook products, which includes its Nutopia series and EzNote product line.
Diamond Bar, Calif.-based CTX denies that the financial woes of Chuntex - its major shareholder - will affect the availability of the company's monitors and projectors in Canada, where CTX began marketing initiatives more than a year ago.
