Gregory Cuneo isn't kidding when he credits his success in the construction business to Donald J. Trump.
Cuneo's not a contestant on the Trumpco-produced reality TV series "The Apprentice," but the real-life chairman of HRH Construction L.L.C., whose machines and people can be seen at many of the construction sites that now dot White Plains.
Across the street from Cuneo's office in the city's downtown, there's Bank Street Commons, the $140 million, 500-unit apartment complex developed by LCOR Inc. of Berwyn, Pa., and Robert Martin Co. of Elmsford. Four blocks east, there's Renaissance Plaza, the $4.5 million minipark at Main Street and Mamaroneck Avenue. A quarter-mile south, HRH is overseeing The Residences at Jefferson Place, a $100 million rental apartment complex developed by JPI of Irving, Texas.
"White Plains is a diamond in the rough no one knows about. Many people in New York City still think this is upstate," Cuneo said.
