Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the present status of Arts directed programs in the K-12 Kent Intermediate School District for the areas of Art, Vocal Music, Band, Orchestra, Dance and Drama. The study also measured changes made during the past 5 years from a similar study completed in 1983.
The survey was mailed out to the 20 school districts in the Kent Intermediate School District. To achieve the highest return rate possible, a second contact was made by a follow-up letter and/or telephone call if needed. There was 100% response rate from the survey.
The survey called for responses concerning programs in Visual Arts, Music (General), Instrumental Music (Band and Orchestra), Dance and Drama.
Conclusions of the survey indicated that the levels of programming had increased over the last 5 years in all categories involving the Arts except Dance and Drama.
