This UMI Serials in Microform (SIM) catalog includes titles offered by ProQuest as part of the UMI Newspapers in Microform product line, including print newspaper indexes. Subscription Orders
All the current-year titles listed in this catalog are available through UMI's Subscription Services, which function much like a subscription to a newspaper in paper format. When you order titles on subscription, you are invoiced for your titles annually, then receive the microform edition automatically, as soon as the material becomes available. Our Subscription Service includes these customer benefits:
Standing Orders
While the current year titles of UMI Newspapers in Microform are available on a subscription basis, they are not available on a standing order basis. Subscriptions provide automatic shipment of the microform edition as it becomes available (please see the section entitled "Subscription Orders", above).
One-Time Orders
Any item from our Serials in Microform program can be ordered as a one-time-only purchase. Please use this online SIM to place your request for a quote, or refer to the How to Order section for information about phone, fax, or mail-in requests. You will be invoiced at the time of shipment, at the price in effect at that time.
Please allow four to six weeks for the shipment of available titles. Titles not yet filmed, including current years, will take longer for shipment. Current years will be shipped when complete (see Filming Policies).
Frequency Options
You can choose quarterly frequency for a limited number of special UMI Serials, such as
The New York Times Book Review and
The New York Times Magazine.
Shipping frequencies for subscription newspapers vary, with many titles shipped at least monthly.
Status Reports
At your request, you can receive a status report that lists each of your subscription titles and its shipment status. Your Subscription Status Report is a tailored document designed as a serials management tool for each individual subscriber.
Customized Renewals
Your annual renewal notice is a ready-made, customized ordering document for the following year. It lists the titles you subscribe to in the current year, with pertinent information about each. (It can even be used as a price quotation or bid document if your ordering procedures require one.) During the renewal process, you review your current subscriptions, add new titles, substitute titles, etc.—right on the renewal notice itself, if you choose. Then return the renewal notice—with any modifications—along with your purchase authorization, and your ordering tasks are complete for the next year.
UMI's renewal forms can also be used as invoices, if you like, thus eliminating paperwork.
No Obligations...No Surprises
As a UMI customer, you are under no obligation to renew titles. At any point in your subscription cycle, you are free to add or cancel titles, with credit issued on cancellation for the unused portion of the subscription. Ordering on subscription—with its added services—costs no more than placing a standing or one-time order. And, as a subscription customer, the prices on your renewals are guaranteed.
UMI's Subscription Service is flexible, cost-effective, and convenient. Your administrative work is minimized, because we do much of it for you.
