Chief Information Officer

Bipin Patel joined ProQuest in 2007 as Chief Information Officer after retiring as Ford Motor Company's North America Chief Information Officer, where he worked for 26 years for Ford in Europe, Asia and Unites States.

He was the Director of North America IT Business Operations for Ford from December 2004 to December 2006. He oversaw Information Technology for Product Development, Manufacturing, and Marketing, Sales, and Service operations.

Prior to this appointment, he was responsible for the creation of Ford's off-shore Application Development Service in Chennai, India. From December 1999 to November 2003, Patel was Director of Management Systems overseeing IT for HR, Healthcare, Finance and Accounting. His responsibilities included the launch of the global intranet, the development and execution of business-to-employee (b2e) strategy, and driving a common global Accounting platform.

Patel has also served as IT Manager for Asia Pacific Operations overseeing IT strategy for the region, and the launch of enterprise-wide IT systems for Asia Pacific and the Emerging Markets. Patel joined Ford of Europe in 1981 as an undergraduate trainee serving in a variety of IT positions in Ford Europe until 1996.

Patel, a British citizen, was born and schooled in Tanzania. He has a BSc. (Honours) in Math from University of Greenwich in London, UK.  He is married with two children.
